Number 3, many of the new features you list such as the healing brush,eraser, and transparency tools etc., are not available in this version but only in the Pro version which is not offered here.

I was all set to install this when I first looked at it, but when I went to the website and compared versions, I found all the good bits are not in the Home Edition which puts it below par against many free programmes.

This is Zoner Photo Studio 13 Home build 7, I think that our earlier giveaway was build 3. Zoner has released build 7 elsewhere, but has only documented changes through build 6. At the moment, you can only get up to build 6 via Updates, so this giveaway is a newer version.

I'm no expert at this sort of thing, but I like Zoner. I use this and Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011. Zoner has tutorials, and the drivers page has DuplexSecure SPTD layer for using your CD/DVD writer, WIC codecs for more formats and RAW formats, and Adobe DNG Converter for even more RAW format support. Zoner will install 32- and 64-bit versions on 64-bit systems.

Answer: No, you do not have to uninstall version 12, as the new program will be installed in a separate sub-folder, with the label of "Photo Studio 13" - whereas version 12 has the label "Photo Studio 12".

Auto-update doesn't make any trouble for the special GotD releases, it doesn't break anything, require you to pay anything, make you ineligible for anything, etc. (I know we have seen some questions/worries in these areas during past GotD's.)

Incidentally, as mentioned far upthread, the GotD release is indeed the first one to use build 7, even before our own website. Build 7 just cleared quality testing at the time of the GotD, and it seemed a shame to use the older build unnecessarily, so up it went.
