Excellent tool today but to add a watermark on your videos you can also use freeware alternatives like VirtualDub and/or Windows Movie Maker:

But did you know that it's also possible to remove any watermarks & logos from any videos for FREE??

So what?? LOL!
Another smarter and more professional way to protect the digital ownership rights of your videos is actually to add on them a DRM Protection....how about doing that for FREE??

"*Forces you to convert videos"
"You are forced to convert input videos to a different video format. Sure, you can select the same output format as your input video but it still converts input videos — no ability to add watermark without reencoding"
.
Really No Offense or anything intended, but yeah, whenever you add something to a video, or adjust it's colors, add FX, crop or in any way alter it, the whole thing has to be re-encoded, regardless the software you use. When adding a watermark or title etc. there are only a few exceptions... You can try to force display of CC or subtitles in some players -- Some players will display text stored in a separate, specially formatted text file, or you can sometimes add either a plain text CC or a graphics-based subtitle stream to to the existing video without re-encoding. There are also a few methods I think to display whatever overlay on top of Flash video, but like trying to force CC/subtitle display, it's not hard to save & re-use the untouched video itself. Depending on how the video's encoded [what format was used, e.g. mpg2], some software will do smart encoding or smart rendering [it can go by either name], which means only altered video frames are re-encoded, with everything else written as-is to a new file. Using that it's easy to add whatever watermark or overlay the software allows, but only for a short time periodically throughout the video -- it would take less time to re-encode, & *may* not be as intrusive to your viewers, but the video formats and the software you can use for smart rendering are both limited.
Before you add whatever overlay, it helps to consider the quality level you want or need, since it's very common for video nowadays to be scaled to different sized screens/resolutions -- when/if your overlay is scaled larger or smaller edges may become pixilated unless you or your software does a bit of extra work. The traditional way to minimize this is to feather edges of graphics or text, & then add a feathered shadow. Simpler graphics, like text, can also look worse than more complicated artwork that looks good without being as sharp or well-defined. Adding animation or movement can also help -- problem edges & such aren't static, aren't in one place long enough that your audience spots them.
Pro's use higher end software for this sort of thing, then pay for often expensive add-ons or plug-ins just for titling etc. -- it's not so much that the software lets them do a better job than you can with free or cheaper tools IMHO, but that that stuff lets them do more faster, & time = money. In many [most?] cases you can do the same graphics work in an image editor for example, then import that for your overlay. Where Wondershare video products tend to differ from the rest of the pack is that rendering your video may use different encoders than the ffmpeg that's almost standard fare, but it depends on your output format whether you'll benefit or not. Wondershare is a bigger company so their products are usually more polished, but when it comes to the actual overlaying of graphics on your video, with the exception of being able to add movement, the results shouldn't be much if any different than using any of the other converters that also let you add watermarks. IOW if you're set up now using some other app to add your logo to videos, unless you want to go to the extra bother of adding movement or animation, there's a good chance you won't see any reason to switch.

I checked out your alternatives: Apowersoft and Armjisoft. I'm sure they work, but they are certainly not free. They both have ridiculous limitations unless you buy a license. I didn't check out your alternatives to placing watermarks on files, but I will try this one out and see what I think.
