I have to agree with Jo: "After using this program from previous giveaways, I ended up buying the full lifetime version and I've been pretty happy with it. Recommend."
This company knows their stuff as I have been using this Ripper and their Winx-Copy-Pro for years.
No complaints. Copy protection no problem.
A definite use and buy for me.

When does the giveaway license expire?

Gary, I have 8.9.1 from a previous giveaway and it's still okay. I'd generally agree with exactly what Robert said, although a few of the GiveAways do forget their licences after a while for some reason. Don't remember any from WinX having an issue.

Gary, usually when they don't specify, it remains functional for as long as you have it... But without upgrades, it may become unusable after a while.
I've used software from this provider before, don't remember having any issues. Good overall experience.

WinX DVD Ripper Platinum 8.20.0 is very good to use, but you should keep in mind that you must use a minimum of 1280x720 pixels and a bit rate of 4000kB / sec to get an acceptable quality.

Emilie Kuri,
"... you must use a minimum of 1280x720 pixels and a bit rate of 4000kB / secyou must use a minimum of 1280x720 pixels and a bit rate of 4000kB / sec..."
DVD specs are that the video Must be analog broadcast standard of 720 x 480 or 576. The video must also be interlaced [required by old-style TVs] but this isn't usually an issue since most movies use embedded flags with [usually 24 fps] progressive video to mimic interlaced. [IOW there's nothing to deinterlace.]
You Do Not want to increase the frame size, because that means the software will have to guess what pixels to add, which is especially a problem given the artificially lowered video quality of most current DVDs used as DRM to discourage ripping. If you need to fill a screen larger than 720 x 480 or 576, let the player or HDTV upscale it for you -- it'll do a better job. And at the original frame size, AVC video at 1.5-2.5 bit rate works just fine, generally reducing the video file size by roughly 1/2-2/3.
Using WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe on HD video, e.g. from a Blu-ray of course will give MUCH better results, but far as I can tell WinX doesn't currently offer a product to decrypt Blu-ray, so you'd have to use something like MakeMKV 1st.
