50 $?? Maybe it's a fair price here in HELL where I am now after passing away a few days ago!
Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1 64 bit system.
The homepage is one of the better ones, the user interface does not correspond with that. A cluttered windows office like interface.
I use a webcam to monitor the computer room, so I have some experience.
The software recognizes my webcam, but you have to click "start" to see, the cameras output. This should done automatically.
This software has a terrible way to define the area of interest (e.g. the door) Not with your mouse, but with a grid, row and column of numbers, you have to choose the "click level" (what's that?) or the "global level (and that?), which does not do anything in my case. There is no useful help for the unexperienced user, no hints, what the buttons really do.
If you choose the camera resolution of 1280x960, the camera window is not resized to fit the programs window. That's imply bad.
Once defined the area, you can choose different action, what should be done, if something triggers the "click level".
When i wanted to exit the program, I have had to use the task manager.
This software could be used by a patient experienced user, but it is far away from a simple and usefull software. If you don't have a webcam monitoring system, this is today a good choice, because it is free.
I'll stick with the software I have got from LogiTech.
Uninstalled via reboot.
Program is nice to look at and has a lot of options. But, helas, it also has lot's of bugs; and worse then that is the heavy load on the CPU! Former version was already a giveaway sometime ago and I contacted Zebra several times about the problems but neither they responded neither they tried to fix the problems in version offered this time.
So I will stay with my freeware program that does the same (and more) without probs.
I have a copy from the previous giveaway, tested today's download and again had problems setting up the camera, this could be me as I'm not very experienced setting up Wi-Fi cameras.
Having said that I did find a much easier to use and very good program, it is called Security Monitor Pro 5.0 but it should be it is expensive at $90.
Having said that don't be put off by my experience as it has an easy to read interface and looks quite versatile, if only I could set up the damned camera!
@XP-Man:
Setting up the cam is not that difficult. You have to put in a string with IP and USER and Pass, something like this:
http://XXX.no-ip.org:8091/videostream.cgi?user=XXX&pwd=XXX&resolution=640
Replace XXX with your relevant data; hope I could help you!
