You know when you see someone in the street and they seem familiar, but just can't put your finger on it? Starting this program is like that. I've used various video editing programs lately trying to find the right one, and this one looks like a slightly re-skinned version of another program - I just can't remember which one.
It has the standard 3 pane layout - clips on the left, preview on the right and timeline along the bottom. Frustratingly the left pane has a minimal width, so on a laptop with reduced height (768) means the preview panel is quite small.
In the timeline, there are no context menu options (when you right-click) at all, which is just nuts. The timeline has limited set of options (split, crop, add marker) which just feels 'empty'.
One frustrating thing is if you click in the timeline and find where you want to cut the video - spend a couple of minutes locating the right frame, but then notice the toolbar isn't active - you haven't selected which actual track you want to edit. Click the one you want and it moves the cursor / timeline to the start of that track, losing your position. Oh, that's annoying. Grr.
Haven't exported a video yet, but it's already annoying selecting the output path. It's not where the original source is, but in its own 'export' folder under your 'documents' folder. By default that's on my C drive, but I don't want that bloated by big videos - instead of typing or pasting the destination into a textbox, you have to click 'change' and get a folder selection box. Just let me type it. Its quicker.
Argh. Add a 'sticker' and select it, and yes, it resets the timeline cursor position again. If you've a large video, that is annoying. Grr. Losing patience with this now...

Nice basic editor.
After ~15min I found
No chroma key, No sound wave display, no transitions or motions on titles.

To avoid annual tax in video editing range....
Adopt free powerful software like Shotcut. Great for end users.
Or Davinci Resolve. Free with few limitation but UHD editing included or with a buy once at 295 $ for high end work.

Shotcut is OK but buggy and does crash quite often. Certainly need a lot of patience with it.
