Unfortunately I was not informed of this GOTD beforehand (like the others) so I could not prepare a review beforehand. However be warned of two things:
1) Avira detected a trojan when trying to install this software.
2) SiteAdvisor says recordstreamingvideo.net (the developer's website) is dangerous because streaming-video-recorder_322667_trial.exe had a trojan in it.
I really can't tell you of free alternatives since I had Avira block this program from installing (therefore not really sure what this program can do). However some may be able to use BB Flasback Express as a adhoc recorder since it is a video capture tool?

on website http://www.recordstreamingvideo.net, but this program has been replaced a long time ago.
The site advisor didn't renew our website as the safe website.

#19, etc., Developer Support - Jacky, I'm certainly not going to give this the glowing reviews that others are. I installed on 32-bit Vista with UAC. The install was a total mess. I installed the original download, but skipped the adware/spyware. It installs and registers a bunch of somewhat common codecs in its own folder instead of System32, without checking for installed codecs. It sets itself up to run as an administrator. It uses some open-source software without credit. It installs two kernel-level drivers, always bad news. I haven't verified the executables, but they're CACE WinPcap, not clear whether they're the commercial or open-source version, I didn't check. Specifically, it installs Packet.dll, pthreadVC.dll, and wpcap.dll to System32, and npf.sys to System32\drivers. It wrote a completely incorrect service startup entry for WinPcap, "C:\Program Files\WinPcap\rpcapd.exe" -d -f "C:\Program Files\WinPcap\rpcapd.ini", which isn't useful since Program Files\WinPcap doesn't exist.
Streaming Video Recorder shows up as registered, but not much of anything works. It doesn't auto-capture, even after reboot, and if I try to add a YouTube URL, it simply opens the URL in IE8 without downloading. Supported Websites doesn't do anything. Streaming Video Recorder communicates with 52-38.bluehost.com, which is probably OK, the HTTP traffic I've seen so far are for www.apowersoft.com/support/ProductInstall.php and www.apowersoft.com/support/update/streaming-video-recorder.xml.

Unfortunately I was not informed of this giveaway beforehand so I was unable to prepare a review for it. I am not going to prepare a review now either because Avira detected a trojan while installing this file.
SiteAdvisor also lists the developer's website as dangerous because they detected a trojan in streaming-video-recorder_322667_trial.exe.
The trojan is probably from "SeekService" (which you can and should opt out from).
I really can’t tell you of free alternatives since I had Avira block this program from installing (therefore not really sure what this program can do).
