As usual with this vendor you get the online-installer and must first unpack the zip and then run the online-installer. The downloaded file starts installation, you have to register account in the program to get a serial number from the internet page opened in your browser after you have confirmed the confirmation link in the email you had to provide. Copy this serial number it to the program and it is unlocked before the real installation start. Then installation starts to an unknown location.
For the case you really need that kind of restoration software, it might be worth a try, but do not await too much, defective pictures are missing something, that even the best programs can not bring back. So in the worst best case you get fragments of your original picture.. The Man from Earth is to mention, that there exist only 1 picture format that has recovery information included, it is called JAZZ, handled as a Photoshop-plugin, was not free, and was abandoned decades ago. Nowadays we must fight with JPEG and HEIC that are not only lossy but also very sensitive to data-corruption.
SoftOrbit has a huge number of software that all have in common that they all are one the same very basic level. This one is no exception. It might do the job for you, or not.
I recommend you make backups of your valuable photos with a good programm that supports error recovery, and best do it twice.

Create backups of photos if they are important... repaired corrupted images are no replacement for pristine backup files!
