Very good app today as every other PARAGON SOFTWARE I can say, even though 200 MB for a backup software honestly seems to me too much!!

For this reason, besides cool disk imaging software like MACRIUM REFLECT and/or DRIVE IMAGE XML, I personally prefer the following FREE ALTERNATIVES:

As someone who has had his rear pulled out the fire thanks to Paragon backups in the past all I can say is you'll be glad you have it! I had the power fail in the middle of a repartitioning that left me with a completely unbootable system, but thanks to a Paragon recovery CD and a Paragon backup in less than an hour it was like it never happened. thanks Paragon and GAOTD!

IMNSHO nothing beats Acronis products, especially the "Universal Restore" feature that permits the user to restore an image onto another device even with different hardware.

I have read through Paragon's features and (unless I overlooked something) that very useful feature seems to be unavailable.

Last week I took an Acronis image on a (fully installed and configured) Sony Vaio and restored it onto an Asus notebook in less than 1 hour.
Can anybody document such a fact experienced with a Paragon product?

Paragon Backup & Recovery 11 Compact seems to be a special GAOTD version as it cannot be found on their website unless clicking on the link given above in the description. Their web site says it's free anyway, so what's the giveaway?

Personally, I've been using the free version of Macrium Reflect which does a pretty good job: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

I have the paid for version of Paragon Disk suite which includes this back up program. It has twice saved me from disaster. I give it 2 thumbs up. Pro: Functionally is is as good as the best backup programs in existence.
Con: The User interface isn't as intuitive as it could be, and it takes a lot of looking around to perform even basic tasks.
