I have run setup exe, gone to the page, gotten the activation key emailed to me and nothing else has happened; nor are there any instructions of what to do next. The only thing installed is a Software Informer Client

Donna Vizco, No, it's not a hoax. Try to extract the downloaded zip-file to a folder with the same name. You can use 7 Zip or Win Rar for the purpose. Then you'll get the installer file for the program and the key for the program - OR instructions how to get the licence. Good luck, I hope my poor English helped you a bit.

I will stay with Malwarebytes...Consequence of incompletely removing Malware Hunter

Computer encounters a problem to start up or shut down
Conflict issue occurs when try to install other antivirus program on the PC
Remnant files accumulated on the computer and consume the system resource
Sluggish computer performance
