Scan music with our highly acclaimed music scanning program SharpEye. You can use SharpEye to scan and convert printed sheet music into a music notation file or a MIDI file which can then be imported into a music notation program or MIDI sequencer. This process is called music OCR by analogy with the more common text OCR. SharpEye 2 outputs MIDI, NIFF and MusicXML files which can be opened by various music notation and sequencing programs including MagicScore, Finale, Sibelius and Cubase. ($25 discount)

If you have the previous giveaway, version 5, uninstall it or neither one will open. I use Vista prem 32bit. I uninstalled my 5 after setting up 6, and finding the problem, but it would have been easier to do it before. Thanks again GAOTD!
Excellent, and very unique software. I had installed this giveaway several years ago, and have not found a better or more powerful sheet music composer than this one. Now if I could just learn to play my Yamaha keyboard...
#1, johnpeter, false. I get tired of the random comments here. MagicScore School 5 and 6 install to separate locations, both work on Vista. As mentioned by #10, Clive, the coding is flaky. Vista does a compatibility re-install when you run MagicScoreSetup. You should set MagicScore School's Compatibility to XP. I noticed it can leave empty menu windows displayed until you exit, which is a serious problem since those windows cover other things. This is a many-times rerun (but improving), you can read previous comments. There are many music notation editors, many of which are free or have free versions. There's Denemo/LilyPond/OOoLilyPond, Finale, Sibelius, Forte, MuseScore, Musette, the online Noteflight, etc.
It's worth mentioning again here in the Comments section what someone already posted in the developer suggestions section - the fonts may not install automatically. They didn't for me on Vista 32, even though I did run both the setup and the activate 'as administrator.'
I didn't see the musical notes and symbols correctly when I first started the program. I just saw big numbers, like 4 for quarter notes and 5 for eighth notes. I had to go to c:\program files, find the Music Maestro folder, and install the two font files that I found there (maestrosymbols.ttf and maestrojazzsymbols.ttf) before the sample scores displayed correctly. (To install the fonts, right click and select Install.)
Free alternative: MuseScore. It's a GPL'd WYSIWYG music notation program similar to Finale. For what it's worth, anyway.
Ben çocuklarım için kurdum aktivasyorda sorun yaşamadım. Çocuklarımda çok sevdiler programı. Ancak bu program tamamen profesyonel.
