Perhaps, there's something, I don't get, but how come, iTunes, all of a sudden needs a support program to backup and restoring. It's seems like a bit of an overkill

I used (what I think was) the last GAotD version (2.0) and it was a bit annoying as it wanted the password for my backups even though the phone was connected and unlocked. The potential to send who knows what data back to base (i.e. some firm I've never heard of before) is worrying. Also it took ages and ages to run, adding to my concern. However it did enable me to get the data off my phone that I wanted to, so I was happy about that. It also had some nice options for saving it. Overall I was happy with the result but found getting there worrying. (Remember my phone has the passwords for all my e-mail accounts and many other things in it.)

Ah, now I've been brave enough to install it I see this is "iPhone DPort Pro" and the previous version lacked the "Pro" moniker. Seems to add a Restore feature.
