Having lost data from regular HD and SSD crashes Hard Disk Sentinel is an essential piece of software in my PC health toolkit. It's notified me of failing disks before failure to give me time to copy and replace the drive before any data is lost. Highly recommended!

I've had this from a previous giveaway and it gives great peace of mind as to how healthy my drives are.

This is an excellent program, easy to use. Hard Disk Sentinel saved me a few years back when it indicated the health was poor. I was able to move data to another drive, a week later the drive died. A great program!

Excellent program. I've owned the pro edition (now up to 6.01) for years, now. It's still developed/supported by the author with periodic updates, and it [has] also cautioned me about ailing drives in the past. If it saves you, even once, it's more than paid for itself.

A very good app, though I'd stress that the S.M.A.R.T. data hard disks / SSDs record, & Hard Disk Sentinel reports, will *Always* give you advanced warning of a problem. It is worth checking S.M.A.R.T. data from time to time, just like it's worth getting today's GOTD, but if you want to be safe, backup. As useful as it's reporting of S.M.A.R.T. data is Hard Disk Sentinel's temp monitoring. Hard disks & SSDs error more frequently & can fail if their temp is too high -- NVMe drives in particular can self throttle if temps get too high. 3.5" conventional hard disks & NVMe drives typically need active cooling, e.g., a fan, though you *might* get away using just a heatsink with cooler running NVMe drives -- how hot they get varies by model. If you miss today's GOTD or want something a bit lighter weight the free Crystal Disk Info is available as a small portable app.
