You make some good points here -- as did Tester.
There are three good programs I use in this category, each with its own advantages or issues; none of them can "cover it all", which is hardly unexpected. I'd say top of the heap is still Tubedigger, which has the most generous license terms of all, rarely seen these days: low cost, install away on however many PCs you own, updated regularly but doesn't seem to keep asking for more $$ every so often. Can't beat that ! And it can find and grab some things that don't want to be grabbed, if you know what I mean. (Normally, you'd need to try more complex, advanced methods for that, which are beyond most of us. Tools like Wireshark, RTMPDumpHelper . . . and I'm not sure exactly what. Command Line stuff, with plenty of trial and error.) The Fast PC program is good, and I've been ranking it as my second 'Go To' choice. It has some very useful features. But I'm not a fan of their update procedure, which occurs shortly after bootup, grinds everything else to a halt until it finishes, and can't be altered by the user. The one year license term is basically compensated for by their regular giveaway promotions.

All that said, I'm finding much to like in the recent Allavsoft promo. In addition to YT, I've so far used it successfully with DailyMotion and a couple other sites, including one recent download of an entire foreign film, at 720P with English subs. It is good to have these multiple options available: if one program doesn't work on a given case, there's a fair chance that one of the others will.

Fast Video Downloader 4.0.0.1 was given last year and i used the serial from todays Giveaway and it registered the ver 4.0.0.1 and say 366 days left to use.

I primarily use it to download youtube videos. But don't worry.
Even if ur version has expired this tool will still download videos from youtube.
It will just show ur actual usage has finished and will still go ahead and download the videos.
I h' this Giveaway from 2020 and still use it daily.
This is an absolute keeper for meh.
