What actually does it mean "annual licence", i.e. what that one-year time limit actually means?
It is a shame, that GAOTD users still need to require such elementary information, whilst GAOTD fails to require of the offerors to provide such relevant information as mandatory if the licence is a time-limited offer or their offers shall not be accepted by GAOTD.
Sorry to say, that GAOTD competitors on the market of free legal offers are much more user-friendly than GAOTD is.

Marek Rawicz, Annual means you have to buy it if you want to continue to use it after a year.
If if is a program that you can continue to use with no time limit it will say "lifetime", " no updates", or "no updates after a year"
Generally if the program has a hard use limit I do not bother with it unless it solves a problem I already have that I do not have a solution for. A fair percentage of them do have a discount if you purchase the full program but they usually have to be used "today" which is really no enough time to decide if it is going to be useful enough to buy.
I am OK with the no update thing and I sometimes purchase a program to get updates if I find it useful enough to spend money on it. With the no updates option you have some time to find out if you really like/need the program enough to pay for it.
On a lot of the no updates programs you do have to be careful to not accidentally update the software. The first thing I do with those is check the settings and make sure that updates are turned off.
