On opening I thought I'd use this program before, but in fact it was the Wondershare video editor they appear identical.
A pretty good idea of its capabilities are worth looking at on their help page at the following link:-
http://support.aimersoft.com/video-editor/video-editor-getting-started.html
It looks like it is a useful editor for amateurs like myself and I shall certainly be keeping it.
Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 Bit system.
Since years I work with a paid video editing software. I don't think, that it makes much sense, to have several video editors on the system. But I was interested...
A fast loading modern user interface asks beforehand, if you would like to make a widescreen 16:9 or a 4:3 classic tv mode video. Choosing the screen offset you start loading your video...
Beforehand you should download and install the additional PIP, transition and effects, which are offered for free. There are enough templates to choose, not only for the beginner. The more experienced you are, the less you use multiple effects or hundreeds of transitions between the scenes.
A good addition are the ready made "intro" or "credits" templates, which can be easily edited. To be fair - we speak of a cheap and today free software - ; These special templates are not very professional. But for the normal family movie sufficient.
The program is easy to use. A good addition are power-tools like adding "tild-shift" to a scene, e.g. for highlighting special things or "mosaic" for e.g. masking a face or a scene, which should not be recognized in detail.
It is faster to use, than my professional video program, the results are remarkable with a variable output. Rendering is fast and of course depending on the computer power.
If you don't use a video editing software and want have something for the family videos and your home cinema, this is a good and reliable software. Start with this! It is not for the advanced producer. You don't haven even "options" to choose and modify the program behavior.
Will stay as a fast video editor on my computer.
Thanks Aimersoft and GOATD
I am an amateur musician and regularly use Movie maker to full satisfaction despite its shortcomings.
I have downloaded and installed the Aimers video editor without problems on Vista but straight away encountered a problem.
There don't seem to be a facility where you can turn down or adjust the sound on video in order to add your own / external sounds!
Two different locations to do the same thing - Adjust the Main Volume only!
This facility is absolutely essential for adding any kind of external sound for adding music to your videos!
Is this an over sight?
or
A limitation for the free GOTD version?
On the vendor website I noticed an interesting offer:
http://www.aimersoft.com/video-editor.html
In fact is possible to purchase this program for $6.99
For this price (instead of the regular price of $35) you get "lifetime" upgrades.
(take note: upgrades, not simple updates)
It seems a special discount for today's GoTD
My question is:
Such an offer is valid only today?
Reason for asking:
Testing this kind of programs (in a serious way at least) takes time.
That said, any chance to see this offer kept valid for a few days?
@ comment #7, Peter C -- You've seen them, I'm sure. It's a graph of the modulation - the ups and downs of sound on the video. The peaks are higher depending on the loudness.
I have no idea why that's important to the guy who mentioned it, because while it's somewhat useful if you're synching subtitles to the spoken words, for general purpose editing I've never needed it.
Güzel bir program
